Privacy notice

What this website collects, why, who handles it on our behalf, and how to reach us about it.

Last updated

This website, www.brhateducation.in, is published by Bṛhat Education Trust. It has no visitor accounts, no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking. This notice describes the ways personal information reaches us.

The partnership enquiry form

The form on Partner with us asks for your name, institution, email address and the kind of engagement you have in mind (chosen from a list), and optionally your role, city and state, phone number and a message. We use these details only to respond to your enquiry.

The website does not keep enquiries in a database of its own. When you send the form, it sends two emails: one with your details to contact@brhat.in, where the team reads and answers it, and one acknowledgement to the email address you gave. Until both emails have gone, your details wait in the website's job queue; they are cleared from it about a day after sending (an email that cannot be delivered stays there until it is dealt with).

Who handles it on our behalf

  • Google reCAPTCHA keeps automated spam out of the form. It loads when you open Partner with us and runs in the background. When you send the form, it gives your browser a token that the website sends to Google, which replies with a score of how likely the submission is to be automated. To do this, Google receives information about your browser and how the page is used, under the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • ZeptoMail, Zoho's email delivery service, sends the two emails described above. Open and click tracking are switched off for these emails.
  • Our hosting provider runs the servers the website and its logs live on.

Cookies

Reading the website sets no cookies. When you open the Partner with us page, this website sets one, a session cookie that carries a security token. It protects the enquiry form against forged submissions and, after you send an enquiry, carries the "Enquiry received" message to the next page. It holds nothing about you, and it is deleted when you close your browser. Google's reCAPTCHA, which loads on that page, may also set its own cookie for spam detection, under Google's privacy policy.

Editors who manage the website sign in with their Google account or a password. Each sign-in sets a long-lived sign-in cookie and keeps a record of the session, with the IP address and browser it was started from, until the editor signs out; it is used to secure the editing area. No cookies are set for advertising or analytics.

Server logs

Like most websites, ours records each request in its server logs: the page asked for, the time, and the IP address it came from. What you type into the enquiry form is filtered out of these logs. The logs are used to keep the website running and secure.

Limits on repeated sending

To stop one address sending many enquiries or reports in quick succession, the website counts each attempt to send the enquiry form, and each page-speed report, against the IP address it came from. The count is kept in the website's cache, not its logs. It stops counting after ten minutes for enquiries and one minute for page-speed reports, and old counts are cleared out as the cache makes room.

Page-speed measurements

On www.brhateducation.in, your browser reports how quickly each page loaded and responded (the Core Web Vitals). Each report holds the measurement, a random identifier for that page view and the address of the page without anything after a question mark, so a search you type is never sent. Reports are written to the server log, like any other request, and used only to make the website faster. Nothing in a report identifies you.

Content from other sites

Posts from Dhīti, the Bṛhat blog, are listed on some pages; until a copy of a post's picture is stored on this website, your browser loads it from Bṛhat's own site. Links to YouTube, Dhīti and other sites take you to those sites, whose own privacy policies then apply.

Questions and requests
